Frequently asked questions

Yes. Board has a REST API that lets your e-commerce platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, custom shop, etc.) push orders directly into your production board. Each order automatically creates jobs with the right production stages applied via templates. Shopify and WooCommerce plugins are also on the way. You can also import orders from Excel or CSV if you prefer a manual approach.
Absolutely. You can set up workstations that represent external contractors instead of internal machines or stations. Each subcontractor can update their stage via the mobile app with a simple PIN - they only see the work assigned to them. You get real-time visibility into their progress without phone calls or emails.
Generic Kanban tools treat every item as a single card in a single column. In real production, an order for 20 pieces might have 12 in painting and 8 still in cutting. Board supports this natively with quantity-based parallel processing. It also includes production-specific features like customer tracking portals, subcontractor access, PIN-based worker login, photo logging per stage, and e-commerce integration.
Yes. Every order automatically gets a unique tracking link. Share it with your customer by email or embed it on your website. They'll see a clean progress page showing which production stages are complete, which are in progress, and overall completion percentages - all without creating an account or logging in.
No. Employees use a simple mobile app and log in with a PIN - no email, no password, no training. They see only the workstations assigned to them and can update quantities, add notes, and attach photos. You can also set up a kiosk display on a shared monitor on the production floor.
Not at all. You create your production stages matching how your workshop already works, add or import your jobs, and you're live. Most workshops are up and running in under 15 minutes. No complex configuration, no IT involvement, no training required.
Yes. Board has a dedicated kiosk mode that displays a live, auto-refreshing Kanban board on any screen. You configure which columns to show, choose light or dark theme, and set the refresh interval - all from the dashboard. No login needed on the display.
Yes. Many users set up columns to represent different suppliers rather than internal workstations. This way you can see at a glance which suppliers have delivered and which are holding things up. You can group items by project and share a tracking link with your client showing overall progress. Supplier mobile app access is coming soon.
